Locking yourself out of your property is so easy to do. Most of us have done it. Even I have done it and I should know better. There was absolutely no way I was going to call out one of my work colleagues when it happened to me. I would never have heard the end of it! I got back in with a bit wire that was holding up one of the plants in my garden in the end, so luckily there was no need.
Nine times out of ten it will be that you are distracted (kids are great for this) or in a rush and you pull the door closed behind you and then you realise that either the keys are on the inside of the door or they are still somewhere in the house like on the kitchen table. If this is the case after a quick call I can come out to you asap and open the door using one of a few technics, locksmith tools and my experience to get you back in quickly and with no damage so that you can retrieve your keys with the minimum of fuss and get on with your day. On the very rare occasion that it is not possible, I may need to damage the lock to get you back in, replace it and issue you with new keys. But it is very rare that I would have to do that if the door is just pulled shut behind you.
You may also be locked out because you have either lost your keys or even worse had them stolen. You would have locked your doors and windows fully so that your home is secure. If this is the case after a quick call I can still come out to you and get you back in. However there is an increased chance that I will need to damage the locks, replace them and issue you with new keys. To be honest I would highly recommend that in the event of you loosing your keys or having them stolen you should have the locks to any of the missing keys replaced as a matter of urgency anyway. Not only for peace of mind but also it may invalidate you house insurance if you do not. You never know who’s hands your keys will end up in. I have heard some awful stories over the years. Sometimes it is defiantly better to be safe than sorry.
I hope that this has been helpful and a bit of an insight in to what I do. Also I hope that if you read this it will give you an idea of what to expect and how it should go if ever this happens to you. For a good and experienced locksmith this kind of job shouldn’t pose a problem and it shouldn’t be too expensive either. One hours labour plus replacement locks should be all that is needed, obviously if you need someone out of office hours it will cost a bit more. And if you can not use me then try to pick a locksmith wisely. A top listing on google doesn’t always guarantee a quality experienced locksmith or even the best price, or someone who is as local as they say they are either. So please do a bit of research and don’t be afraid to scroll down before you call someone out.
All of my work is guaranteed and I take pride in providing a full, professional, punctual and friendly locksmith service at a reasonable and fair price. So if you need a professional locksmith who definitely knows what they are doing please give me a call on 07985 208967 or email me l.wellslocksmith@gmail.com
